Vaquon is a veterinary antimicrobial/antiprotozoal medicine containing atovaquone, used in dogs and cats (and sometimes horses under vet guidance) for treatment and control of serious protozoal infections and certain respiratory conditions.

Indications :

• Babesiosis (Babesia gibsoni) – tick-borne protozoal infection in dogs
  
• Pneumocystis pneumonia (Pneumocystis carinii)
  
• Tick fever and other tick-associated protozoal diseases
  
• Cytauxzoonosis (Cytauxzoon felis) in cats

Directions for Use:

• Veterinary-only medicine — use only as directed by your veterinarian.

  13.3 mg/kg body weight, orally, every 8 hours for ~10 days
  (Often combined with azithromycin if part of a specific treatment protocol.)
  

• Administer tablets whole (do not split unless instructed).
  

• Give with a fatty meal if advised to enhance absorption.
  

• Complete the entire course even if symptoms improve.
